What we did

The Challenge:

Storm Angeconeb, an Indigenous artist, needed a professional and visually appealing platform to showcase her diverse art portfolio. The goal was to create an online presence that not only highlighted her artistic works but also conveyed her unique cultural heritage and personal story. Additionally, the platform needed to be user-friendly and capable of supporting e-commerce functionalities to facilitate the sale of her art.

The Work:

To meet this challenge, I chose Shopify as the foundation for Storm’s website. Shopify’s robust e-commerce capabilities and customizable templates made it the ideal platform for creating a visually striking and functional site. The project involved:

• Collaborating closely with Storm to understand her vision, style, and the narrative she wanted to convey through her online presence.
• Selecting and customizing a Shopify template that resonated with her artistic aesthetic.
• Organizing her artwork into a cohesive and easily navigable portfolio, ensuring each piece was presented in the best possible light.
• Integrating e-commerce features to allow visitors to purchase her art directly from the website.

The Scope of Work:

The scope of work for this project included:

• Initial consultation and ongoing communication with Storm to gather requirements and provide progress updates.
• Design and customization of the Shopify website, including layout adjustments, color scheme selection, and font choices to match Storm’s artistic style.
• Content creation and management, including the uploading of artwork images, writing of descriptions, and arrangement of portfolio sections.
• Implementation of e-commerce functionality, including setting up product listings, payment gateways, and ensuring a seamless checkout process.
• Testing the website across different devices and browsers to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
• Providing training and documentation to Storm, enabling her to manage and update the website independently in the future.
